Gems & Gemology Online is Here!
We are pleased to announce that, beginning immediately, PDF versions of both full issues and individual articles and Lab Notes/GNI sections can be purchased through MetaPress at gia.metapress.com (click on “Journal Issues” along the left-hand navigation bar). MetaPress now hosts PDF versions of all Gems & Gemology issues going back to Spring 1981. Note that Editorials, Letters, Book Reviews, and Gemological Abstracts (and all items marked with a solid green box on the MetaPress tables of contents) are available free of charge.
    Online subscriptions will be available for purchase later this year. Current subscribers will have the option to convert existing subscriptions to a print + online combination package or to online-only. Watch this space for more information.

The newest volume in the Gems & Gemology in Review series, Treated Diamonds, is now available for order on our Ordering and Renewals page. This comprehensive work compiles over 70 years of G&G material on diamond treatments, making it an essential reference for anyone handling diamonds. The handsomely slip-cased volume also includes a folded version of the chart “Identification of Filled Diamonds.”

Two Recent Awards for G&G 
The American Gem Society has presented Russell Shor with its annual Richard T. Liddicoat Journalism Award for Industry/Trade Reporting for his Fall 2007
 G&G article “From Single Source to Global Free Market: The Transformation of the Cultured Pearl Industry.”  And a Gold Ink Award in the Scientific and Technical category will be presented Oct. 27 to G&G’s printer, Allen Press of Lawrence, Kansas. Cosponsored by Print Media and Printing Impressions, the Gold Ink Awards are considered the nation's most prestigious print quality competition.
