My GIA

In one year, learn the skills of today’s top jewelry design and manufacturing professionals. GIA’s world-renowned instructors will show you how to tap into your creativity and transform your ideas into beautiful pieces of jewelry. This combination of programs is ideal for those aspiring to become bench jewelers or manufacturing professionals.

In the Applied Jewelry Arts Program, you take your design from concept to reality. You’ll be immersed in an environment that’s filled with art and inspiration. Here, the line between fun and work is blurred.

You learn how to channel inspiration, communicate ideas on paper, and fashion designs that are appealing and practical. You’ll also learn to render your designs using computer-aided design techniques (CAD/CAM). At that point, you’ve got something special. This is where you take your creative vision through every step of the pre-production process to a finished piece of jewelry. And what may have appeared to be magic – now becomes art.

Then, in the Graduate Jeweler Program, you learn all the basic competencies of a professional bench jeweler, hands-on, just like in a real trade shop. You’ll learn metalworking and fabrication, jewelry repair, and stone setting. We’ll supply the gemstones, karat gold, platinum, and sterling silver, and you’ll gain the skills you need to succeed in the industry.
