Introducing new versions of the GIA Diamond Grading Report and Diamond Dossier®
On January 1, 2006, GIA unveiled updated versions of its world-renowned grading reports. In addition to fresh cover designs, the new reports are formatted to make them easier to read, and contain informative descriptions of the Four Cs.
What’s more, the new reports for standard round brilliant cut diamonds falling in the GIA D-to-Z color scale and Flawless-to-I3 clarity scale, now come with a single comprehensive cut grade. These reports also contain illustrations of the diamond’s actual proportions along with expanded proportion data.

About GIA Reports
While the acquisition of a diamond is an important expression of love or accomplishment, it also represents a major investment in time, energy, and money. You need and deserve to feel confident in your new purchase.
The Final Word on a Diamond’s Authenticity and Quality
The procedures used by GIA to grade diamonds are designed to achieve the utmost accuracy. Each diamond is subject to the scrutiny and analysis of the Institute’s renowned diamond graders and gemologists. And each diamond grading report details the Institute’s authoritative assessment of a diamond’s 4Cs – color, clarity, cut, and carat weight.
What’s more, since GIA is not affiliated with any retailer, wholesaler, or manufacturer, you gain extra peace of mind knowing that your GIA report represents the impartial opinion of unbiased professionals.
All GIA diamond grading reports contain a hologram, security screen and microprint lines as well as other security features that exceed industry guidelines.
